What is the Janus BW online backup service?

Janus Backup Ware is an online cloud backup service that allows you to backup your valuable computer data over the Internet. Janus BW automates the process of backing up your data offsite. Backups begin automatically and your data is sent to and stored in two redundant storage facilities located thousands of miles apart. Your data is encrypted, and always remains encrypted and always remains safe by using a unique 256 bit encryption key that only you have. Moreover, you can restore your files as often as you need to and at any time day or night, with just a few clicks of your mouse.

What happens if there is a data loss?
You will contact Mobius Works and we will restore your data onto your existing hardware. This service is performed at no cost to you while you subscribe to Janus BW. If the hardware cannot be repaired within 24 hours we can provide you with a business class system with the restored data until a replacement can be purchased.

Installation and Set Up
After you sign up for an Janus BW online backup service account,we install the software onto your computer or your server. After installation of the software, you will choose a unique encryption key that will be used to encrypt all of your files. We will then set up your backup sets, which are the list of files that you want to backup and the times that you want to do backups. We can also backup SQL Databases, Microsoft Exchange, System State Backups, and much more.

Backups start automatically
From then on, as long as your computer is on and functioning, backups will start automaticallyaccording to the schedule that you have set,eliminating loss of data due to user error. While backups are typically scheduled during the night when there are few people using your computers, backups have little or no impact on your computer’s performance and your ability to access the Internet. With Janus BW, you also have the option of manually starting a backup at any time.

Files are compressed
Once the Janus BW software identifies a file that needs to be backed up, it compresses the file using industry leading compression technology. Compression ensures that not only do backups are shorter, but they also save space; thus saving you money.

Files are encrypted
After being compressed, each file is individually encrypted using your unique 256 bit encryption key. Because your encryption key is stored only on your computer and is never transmitted over the Internet, no one but you ever has access to your files.

Sent securely over the Internet
For added security, each encrypted file is then sent over the Internet via a secure channel using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology, the same Internet transmission technology that is used for online banking.

Stored in multiple data centers
All of your files are sent to two secure cloud data centers, located thousands of miles apart from each other. Each data center has 24/7 monitoring, advanced security technology such as biometric access controls, backup generators and redundant connections to the Internet.
